Xiaolin Lan is a Chinese Artist. She is a graduate of Theatre, Virginia Commonwealth University with an MFA in Costume Design and her BA in Costume Design from Beijing Dance Academy. She is an Adjunct Professor at department of Theatre, Virginia Commonwealth University, she teaches Theatrical Makeup Design, Costume Design, and figure Drawing. Other Theatre VCU credits include being the Costume Designer for Macbeth, Musical Urinetow, Iphigenia 2.0. , and Brave New World at Quill Theatre. She was also a Costume Designer for Chinese Classical Dance Nine Songs and she also was an Assistant Costume Designer assistant for Modern Ballet The Sunrise and Mahua FunAge: Sugar with Salt in China. She worked as costume intern in the National Ballet of China. She received a third-placed Award for The Resistible Rise of Arturo Ui in the Graduate Costume Design competition of the Southeastern Theatre Conference 2016.
She was the Special Effects Makeup Designer on Flying Over Sunset on Broadway at Lincoln Center Theater.
She also worked professionally as an artist and illustrator.
She loves taking photo, did lots of Photography for performance arts, wildlife, nature, and landscape.
